Sikh guru da dam dam pal pal daas hi ban ke rehnda ey;
Oho kaar kamave gursikh jo kujh satgur kehnda ey.
Lakh syana hove gursikh par aape nun moorh gine;
Lakh hove sikh daulat wala gur charna di dhoorh gine.
Gur dar utte aake gursikh jano ki muk janda eh;
Bhull bhulekhe vi je bhulle saah isda suk janda ey.
Gursikh nun nahin ichchha fal di karm sada nishkam kare;
Kahe avtar eho jehe sikh da satgur roshan naam kare.

Meaning
The true disciple of the True Master always remains a humble servant every moment. He does whatever is ordained unto him by the True Master, and considers himself to be an ignorant fool, even if he may be the most knowledgeable, judicious or learned of all. However rich a disciple may be, yet he believes himself to be the dust of True Master’s feet. A true devotee always remains in the fear of his Lord Master when he comes to the abode of his Master. He regrets and almost dies of shame if he does something against the wishes and teachings of his Lord Master, even if by a mistaken chance (unknowingly). The disciple renders selfless service and does not expect any reward or praise. Avtar says, The True Master bestows name and fame on such a disciple.
